About changing Exos 2.5 Fans

Postby Igb » Tue Oct 04, 2011 10:52 am

Hi, im willing to do a very simple mod to my EXOS 2.5, essentially to reduce the loudness a bit, specially under heavy load.

My problem is that i haven't found detailed specifications of the control board, if there are strict current limits on the fan connectors, or any other information i should be aware of. I expect it to be starndard 3-pin voltage regulated fan connections, but i want to be sure, since most mods rewire the system completely

I assume the auto setting should work exactly as it was with this simple change. This is the board I'm finding if I'm right: http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/p ... ct_id=1084

Many thanks in advance.

Hello Igb,

You found the correct control board. The total fan current limit on the PCB-EX004P is 3A. But each header is limited to 2A. Keep in mind that this board has only been tested with Koolance fans (which are PWM).
