Converting an INX720 into an Exos 2?

Postby Gewehr98 » Sat May 10, 2014 6:20 pm

I found an older Koolance INX720 complete case, and bought it as a spare parts set for my trusty Exos 2.

I did this because if the obsolete dual pump reservoir in my Exos 2 ever gives up the ghost, I'm relegated to finding other used examples.

However, on closer inspection, this particular INX720 is in excellent condition, and has even been converted to use a Koolance HX-CU720V Copper radiator.

I'd like to take this INX720 top end and plop it into the appropriate Exos 2 style bottom enclosure to build another Exos 2 for a new 8-core IBM workstation.

It appears that I need the 8-bolt ENC-360 bottom enclosure to create this "new" Exos 2 standalone unit.

Am I heading in the right direction? Thanks for the assist!

If you already have an Exos-2 I'd honestly try taking the bottom off of it first and doing a test fit before ordering the parts. The INX *might* be to deep to fit within an enclosure. Or alteast take measurements and check the clearances that the enclosures give.
