Back in Oct 2010 Hellfiretoyz commented that he was able to successfully remove the heat spreaders from Corsair Dominator memory modules without pulling chips off the PCB.

I'm faced with either ditching my 12 GB of Corsair Dominator memory, returning the RAM-33 cooling blocks or looking for an altogether different setup. I'd like to try to make what I've got work. So.......................what's the opinion of forum members about the success achieved in removing these heat spreaders using isopropyl alcohol? If that doesn't work, any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Ricci

Would love to help if you had the GT version. I had problems with the regular dominator. But if you still want to liquid cool them here is something for you and you can keep the the heatsinks on, that's the good thing about corsair.

Yep! I agree. That is the way to go. Too much risk removing the heat spreaders. Thanks again, Ricci
