HD-57 and HD-60 Questions

Postby WilliamB » Sun Aug 21, 2011 8:04 pm

Hi, I just got a HD-60 kit with the extra hard drive package. In the instructions it mentions putting down a layer of plastic between the transfer media and the hard drive. I was wondering if it should be a certain type of plastic or will just the normal kitchen type plastic wrap work. Also I had heard that the HD-60 had less resistance to flow than the HD-57 but I was wondering how they compared in terms of heat removal. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if something as simple as saran wrap type products would have enough heat tolerance to not start melting with focused heat like the spindle point from the motor. A Koolance employee or someone more experienced with the HDD coolers should be able to clarify for you.

Thanks for your quick response. I did send a question to the Koolance people so hopefully they will tell me what will and will not work. I was mostly just wondering if anyone had experience with the HD-60 and had any tips or tricks with putting it together.
