This only resolves the issue 50% of the time for me.

Whatever is causing the problem appears to be related to the boot process and once it boots successfully then the next time that boot process has caused the problem to reappear. Since I'm not opening and resaving settings this means that there will be a beep on the next boot.

I'd suggest that the software resave settings ever time it's successfully starts up and communicates with the device. Assuming that it's when it saves changes to the card that the problem is being resolved that is. This way when the problem reappears (and it does) this might keep it from reappearing.

So no, this version is definitely not a 100% fix.

I have one of the fastest combinations of current hardware, and even so I noticed a dramatic decrease of COM connection times. So good job on that aspect of this update.
