Need help creating my first cpu cooler

Postby dakine320 » Fri May 31, 2013 8:02 am

Hello every one, so ive been debating going liquid cooled for quite some time now and with my recent upgrade to the fx 8350
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819113284
and the sabertooth fx 990
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131877
Ive found that after market air coolers do not fit due to the large NSB. I also have a very old standard rosewill mid tower case with a top mounted psu. I only want to cool my CPU ive looked at the closed loop coolers but frankly i see to many reports about them leaking. I have a pump and a dual 120mm radiator that was graciously donated to me by a friend when he put a new full WC system in his box. What im want to konw is how much case modification will i have to do ( or should i buy a new case) and what block will actually fit on my Mobo? I see the 370 and the 380 are there any performance differences between the two?

they come with mounting hardware for all cpu sockets, so they will fit np, but your issues with room in the case would likely be what I would address first. If you look on the product pages they have tabs that give the exact measurements for all the koolance products so you can measure for fitment. I have learned to measure like 100 times and then dbl check that, because it sucks needing 1 part or fitting you didn't order, and for me it takes like 1 1/2 weeks to get my shipments from koolance.

Well I actually had to buy a new case, ( HAF 922) And Ive upgraded my system quite a lot in the past 5 months. Went back to intel with a 4770k with a 380i on it. Picked up a dual drive bay rez and now looking to get my vid cards and ram on my loop next.
