BKT-CP009K Rear Insulating Pad Question

Postby Brett » Thu Feb 19, 2009 6:59 pm

Inside the kit to convert a CPU340 waterblock to 1366 use, there is 2 gaskets. one has a rectangular center with mating screw holes, the other is full faced with screw holes. Before I proceed, Am I to use just the one rectangular on the EVGA X58 motherboard? Or should I double stack them? There are no instructions in the box and there are no instructions on your site and just want to be perfectly clear on this. Thanks

If you go to the product page and click the "manual" button it brings up the directions. It specifically brings up the directions for the 330 but it is the same thing for installation.

Thanks, but BKT-CP009K adapter bracket was not mentioned for the CPU300. However, it was mentioned in the CPU350 for the 1366 socket. I only use the rectangular centered pad for the 1366. It did make sense and I did assemble it the proper way after all but, was just slightly unsure about the extra pad's inclusion in the kit.

Hi,

Just a guess, but I think the other pad is for compatibility with other sockets (aside from X58). The pad with the hole was for X58 1336 boards because it commonly has a large built-in backplate that will go into the hole in the pad. The pad without the hole is for the other boards like AM2 and 775 that does not have the backplate. This was the case for the CPU-350.

Cheers.
