Ps3 compatiable water block?

Postby dragon434 » Sun Mar 22, 2009 6:41 pm

Hey guys, ive been looking for ps3 water blocks but i know they've been discontinued by koolance, Does anyone know if any other waterblock in there catalogue will be compatible?

I have my ps3 is a small room on a shelf and its been giving me the " ps3 is overheating please shutdown" message alot, and since i have a koolance exo i havent been using, i might as well put it to use.

Would appreciate if anyone can help me out, if anyone is also has a pair they dont need and is willing to sell, i have already posted a topic for it in the buying section.

I beleive the coolers used in the PS3 kit were the GPU-200s with modified mounting hardware. You may be able to get away with the stok mounting hardware but i'm not sure and would need someone to confirm that.

For me even with a 7200rpm drive in mine instead of the stock drive speed I have had no heat issues to prompt me to open it up and look at improving the cooling yet.

I know this is a little off subject but I'm still using the stock HDD from my 60GB first gen PS3. What did you upgrade yours with?

Any 2.5 sata drive should work. I used a 7200rpm 320GB Seagate, I no longer trust western digital drives except for using them as non critical boot drives that I can back up.
