MSI GTX 980 compatability with NX980

Postby Mik » Sat Feb 21, 2015 10:16 pm

Does anyone know if the MSI GTX 980 uses the reference chipset and is therefore compatible with the NX980?
I'm not getting straight answers from the computer stores here
Thanks in advance for any help.

Most people won't keep track of that kind of thing, you might be best off shooting MSI an email directly to find out if it is a reference layout, and if not then figuring if it is close enough to work or not.

Good idea. I was just wondering if somebody on the board had already fitted an NX980 to an MSI board (or failed to)

In case anyone else is thinking about buying an MSI board tech support has advised that the Gaming Series is NOT reference chipset but all other models are.
