evga x58 mobo chipset question

Postby sejrej » Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:17 pm

I have had problems with other motherboards burning out in the past when I just water cooled the processor. I don't really want to go that far with my project this time round and I was wondering if the fan on the NB chipset plus the fact that I am using a thermaltake Spedo series case would be enough cooling if i just watercooled the processor and the my evga 295's?

Watercooling the CPU and VGA's is the most normal water cooling set up. Putting blocks on the rest of the hardware (NB, SB, etc) is just extra...but always has it's benefits. If your OC'in your CPU, then your going to want to block your mosfets. If your OC'in your VGA's you may want to do a full cover block on your X58 (NF200, NB, SB, etc). If you got good air flow and cable management I don't see a problem not putting blocks on your NB area.
