Full-coverage MB blocks requests

Postby Admin » Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:02 pm

We are taking new requests for full coverage motherboard blocks! Please post your preferred board. (We are not producing models for boards that have already been offered.)

HELLO!!! GIGABYTE UD9 FTW!!! That way if the most extreme build ever for my friend actually works out, we can water cool absolutely everything! It's gonna be epic if it happens... said gigabyte board, i7-980x overclocked to max, 4 (yes, 4!) gtx 480s overclocked to max, 24 gigs ddr3-1600 ram, 2 RAID 0'ed 256gb 6gbps ssd's or biggest size we can get by the time of the build, corsair ax1200 power supply, haf x case, plenty of uv ccfls to light up the tubing and custom sleeving courtesy of performance-pcs.com, blu-ray burner, 3d vision surround (that means 3 23 inch 1080p 3D monitors baby!), and, of course, 100% liquid-cooled in 100% parallel configuration from koolance on the ERM-2K3U COPPER! Only a matter of time before the REACTOR goes from ultimate dream system to knock-your-socks-off reality! Prepare to be fragged to the power of infinity! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I don't know where to begin with this PC
1. Gigabyte might be your choice but a 4-way classified(still no bock for this Koolance? ) or P6t7 will do the same for a lot less but they don't have 6gbs sata.
2. Watercooling everything is a waste of time and money, stick with CPU/MB/GPU.
3. 980X at around 4.2-.4ghz should be enough for anything.
4. 4 GTX 480's is just for benchmarking/folding as the 4th card won't be used in gaming. Since your going to use 3D, a 3 card setup would be best but I don't how well the 3rd card scales with 3D which I would think it would be better than non 3D games where the 3rd card is barely used.
5. 24GB of ram  unless your doing some photo/3d rendering/virtual machines I don't see the point. I've yet to pass 4.5GB on my 6GB PC so 12GB would an overkill choice.
6. 2 SSD's @6gbs would be good but 4 128GB ssd's @3gbs would be better. I have 2 256gb ssd's in raid 0 and are great as long as they have the latest TRIM firmware updates :|
7. 1 1200W PSU isn't going to cut it with 3 or even 4 GTX 480's, dual 1200W PSU's is a must once you start OCing everything.
8. For $900 you could build a moutain mods case with a bunch of rads and dedicated loops which would easily beat the ERM-2K3CU in cooling and flow rate, both of which I can't see this unit doing. Unless you ad a 2nd pump and more radiators in the case to it and even then you have to turn the unit on and off every time with the PC.
ERM-2K3U + HX-1320
i7 965@ 3.6ghz CPU-360
MB-ASP6WR
GTX 295@ 670/1476/1188 VID-NX295
6 sets of No-spill QDCs
EK-DCP 4.0 Pump

+1 for the SR2. Nobody has one out commercially just some home brews. Very surprised by that.. these boards run extremely toasty with mild bclk's has to be 1:3 ratio or better of owners who will buy them.

Crosshair IV Formula please!

I'm about to order a whole cooling system from you guys and I'd really love to be able to order a cooling block for my motherboard too! Two weeks to go!

SR2 is going to be to late. EK and now MIPS are already releasing blocks over the next 2 weeks.

Would have liked to use Koolance but cannot wait.

EK's date for the sr-2 block has been steadily slipping - latest eta 22 July ie today and still nothing in their online store and this will now be the 3rd slip I have seen - and there seems to be nothing on the MIPS site about the sr-2 either... so come on Koolance! It is not too late, and I'd far rather use a block from you (I have seen your lovely VGA block for the gtx295) than EK. My friend used EK on his EVGA classified and it was a nightmare - the block shorted out the board!
