I'm with you on this one. I'd like to buy a Asus Maximus 4 Extreme, but without water blocks (of any kind) for Northbridge or Southbridge, I'm going to pass.

Does Koolance know something we don't?
Is the Asus Maximus 4 Extreme a dog?

Obviously it isn't worth Koolance's time or money to develop water blocks for that board.

Well, I made the attempt to install a Koolance system onto a Maximus 4.
The CPU mounting block that Koolance would have you remove seems to be attached to the backplate on the CPU. When you remove the mounting bracket, it falls off.

So, let's suppose you leave it on. there is a space in between the top of the CPU and the sides approximately 1 mm thick. I'm thinking, what if you just use a lot of Arctic Silver and leave the bracket on?

Maybe that'd be more compatible. I'd probably have to order another one to try it, though. So it'll be a few weeks before I find out.

When you install a CPU-370 it has it's own backplate that you use instead of what is already on the motherboard.

I'm talking about a solid piece of metal that the Koolance Backplate is designed to fit around. It apparently serves the function of EM shielding because the board won't start without it.
