New Product suggestion!

Postby JuanPabloCuervo » Mon Feb 21, 2011 6:08 pm

Hi...

i have the ERM-2k3u with rear fans dissabled/disconnected, works ok with 10 blocks.
in my PC also i have 2x120mm fans..
but i hate fans, what can i say....

the idea its to remove the 2x240mm fans & keep same temperatures or better...

the sollution would be to build something similar to an electric Tankless Water Heater...
but Cooler!

how?
just like Corsair ICE-T30 Sub ambient cooler... arround a 12mm id copper tube, that i can plug inline at the input or output of the ERM-2k3u..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tankless_w ... ss_heaters

or... to install infront of the Radiators replacing the 2x240 fans.

also would be nice an smaller version to replace the 120mm fans inside my PC.

Thanks

I don't really fully understand what your thinking but in short using TEC coolers doesn't instantly solve your problem. Electricity is one of the least efficient heat/cooling methods possible. Using a TEC cooler as done in the first link actually creates more heat on the hot side then there was in the first place.

Say a component outputs 50W of heat, you put in a TEC coolers to cool it but the hot side outputs 75W of heat instead. You now have to remove 75W of heat instead of only 50W of heat. There are instances that they work however. You didn't really explain your idea very well and you should elaborate more on it, even if it is mspaint doodles.

i think im gonna try to modify a portable ice maker... or a 12 Volt Car, Beverage, Thermoelectric, Travel Cooler, Chiller, or Can cooler.

Re-reading what you have not that I'm more awake instead of just before going to bed I think your essentially trying to replicate a Coolit Boreas unit, but attempting to make it fanless. It just means it needs a massive passive heat sink instead of compact active heat sink. Fridges don't have fans on the back because of the massive size of their cooling.
