Possible clogged radiator

Postby apierce » Tue Oct 16, 2012 7:51 am

I have an exos2 system that didn't seem to cool as well as it used to. I pulled the system and when i blow through it, the radiator side barely lets any air through. Is it possible to flush the radiator?
Thanks

It is possible but unlikely is most cases that it would be clogged internally. However if you rig up a pump to cycle warm water with some vinegar in it you should be able to flush it out.

Not sure why the radiator would be clogged on the inside provided you used only Koolance products.

If you mixed and matched components with other manufacturers and didn't use Koolance coolant then it could be corrosion in which case I would recommend replacing the whole system.

There are some types of Tube that leech plastizer and that will clog up a rad , and also jam the impeller in your pump .
I have not had it go as far as to have had to do a chem flush to get rid of it but i have seen this problem with my own
eyes . It is nasty stringy crap that is quite hard to see untill you flush your rad ,and i think it would set-up as a hard to get
rid of soled in a rad once it was dry .

Never seen that happen yet. Must depend on the brand of tubing or something.
