Using a BKT-HX003 with a large radiator

Postby overshoot » Thu Aug 14, 2014 7:03 pm

The instructions say

For taller units, the smaller bracket pieces should be inverted and sandwiched between the radiator and shroud.

Not the clearest directions. I'm using a HX-360XC radiator, and it's certainly more than 45 mm high. The standard method doesn't do it. But "invert and sandwich" isn't making much sense and fiddle the bracket, radiator, and shroud around as I may I can't get them to play nice.

Anyone have a clue how to support the radiator?

Please look at the following

hx003 manual

I believe what those steps are referring to is the brackets at the bottom of the radiator need to be flipped upside down.

Yeah, that makes sense so I tried it. Unfortunately the HX-360XC apparently is too tall (44mm) for that to work.

For now I'm giving up on the brackets and using hex-head 4mm bolts to mount the radiator directly to the fans. It would certainly be nice to have a less-kludged way to use all-Koolance gear though.
